Pre-Trial Intervention

(PTI)

Individuals who apply and are accepted into the Third Circuit Pretrial Program are referred to our agency for an evaluation. Clients are then recommended to attend services based on the outcome of the evaluation.

Probation, Parole and Pardons Program (PPP)

Assist individuals who are offenders on both the State and Federal levels in the state of South Carolina.

The goal of this program is to assist individuals by successfully meeting the conditions of their probation or parole.

Alcohol & Drug Safety Action Program (ADSAP)

SC Law requires an individual whose driver’s license has been suspended as the result of one or more of the following offenses to attend this program.

   * Driving Under the Influence (DUI)

   * Administrative License Revocation (ALR)

   * Zero Tolerance suspension

   * Boating Under the Influence (BUI)

   * Other related offenses

Offender Base Intervention

(OBI)

Court Program

The OBI program provides educational services to those individuals referred to us for treatment by the Magistrate / Municipal and Circuit Court to serve their order of conditional discharge .

Alcohol and Drug Safety

Action Program (ADSAP)

Sumter Behavioral Health is a certified provider that offers Education and Treatment services for individuals charged with a Driving Under the Influence (DUI), Boating Under the Influence (BUI), and related offenses through the Alcohol and Drug Safety Action Program (ADSAP).

 

Thousands of South Carolinians are killed or injured each year in alcohol- related or other drug-related crashes. ADSAP services are designed to work with offenders to reduce the number of crashes that result in death, injury, property damage, and the number of individuals that repeat being charged with DUI related offenses.

South Carolina Law requires an individual whose driver’s license has been suspended as the result of a DUI conviction, Administrative License Revocation (ALR), or Zero Tolerance suspension to complete an ADSAP program before he or she can apply to the South Carolina Department of Public Safety (SCDPS) for reinstatement of their driving privileges.

Requirements for ADSAP enrollment are:

   1.  10 year driving record

         (obtain from DMV within 30 days of scheduled ADSAP

          appointment)

   2.  Valid Picture ID (driver’s license, state ID, passport)

   3.  Social Security Card

   4.  Minimum fee for ADSAP is $500, however the total cost is

        based on the result of the assessment.

Pre-Trial Intervention (PTI)

This program assist individuals who are first time offenders that have been arrested for non-violent crimes. The goal of the PTI Program is to assist the Third Circuit Solicitor’s office with diverting individuals away from the court system and avoiding a criminal charge on their record by offering an alternative.

 

The PTI program is a substance use/abuse educational treatment program focused on reducing the risk of individuals receiving a future criminal charge due to high-risk decisions. After successfully completing the treatment or education program, an individual is referred back to the Solicitor’s Office to begin the process of expungement.

 

The PTI program cost is a minimum of $400.00.

What’s needed on the first appointment is:

   1.  Valid Picture ID (driver’s license, state ID, passport)

   2.   Social Security Card

   3.  $200.00 for the enrollment, intake, and initial drug screen fees.

Offender Based Intervention (OBI) / Court

Many people make mistakes or unhealthy choices/decisions that land them in opposition of the law. Sumter Behavioral Health offers an Offender Based Intervention (OBI) that provides services for individuals who are referred by the Magistrate/Municipal Circuit Court to serve their order of Conditional Discharge. The Conditional Discharge Order allows individuals with an alcohol or substance/drug related charge, other than DUI, to enroll in the program in hope of having their criminal record expunged.

The OBI Conditional Discharge is a six month substance use/abuse educational treatment program that is authorized through the South Carolina State Legislation. After completion of the treatment or education program, an individual must remain drug free and not receive any violations or tickets on any charge other than a traffic ticket for six months. Upon completion of the program, the charge(s) may be expunged through the Third Circuit Solicitor’s Office.

 

The OBI Conditional Discharge program cost is a minimum of $400.00.

   2.   Social Security Card

   3.  $185.00 for the Biopsychosocial Assessment and initial

        Drug Screen.

The goal of this program is to assist individuals with successfully meeting the conditions of their probation or parole by providing treatment services to those individuals who have been identified as needing assistance related to drug and alcohol issues.

This assistance is also offered in the form of AOD education, life skills or higher level of substance abuse treatment, if needed.

Typically, an individual is referred by their Probation or Parole officer. Requirements for enrollment vary according to the mandates and conditions of the individual and the PPP agent/officer.

 

What’s needed on the first appointment is:

   1.  Valid Picture ID (driver’s license, state ID, passport)

   2.   Social Security Card

   3.  Referral from Probation, Pardon and Parole.
