PREVENTION SERVICES

Community Prevention

The purpose of the Prevention division is to educate the public on the use and effects of alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs. The prevention staff participates in a wide variety of community activities and exhibits throughout the year. Please give us a call if you would like for us to participate in your school or church health fair. We are also available to speak to groups of all ages on substance abuse prevention.

Evidence-Based Prevention Programs

Prevention continues to become more scientific and evidence-based.  Currently, we offer LifeSkills curriculum for elementary and middle school-aged children.  This curriculum can be taught in school or after-school program.  It consists of 10 - 13 sessions of fun, interactive activities that are designed to get youth thinking about their futures and how to avoid risky behaviors that will affect the quality of their lives.

Palmetto Retailers Education Programs (PREP)

This is a short course that helps reduce underage access to alcohol and tobacco products in our communities while also lowering the liability risks for businesses and their employees.
